The name Ferrari means bold design, powerful engines, and constant innovation. Enzo Ferrari, driven by vision and passion for racing, built a legacy that still inspires.
Montblanc created the Great Characters Enzo Ferrari Special Edition to honor his story. The design reflects his roots and his love for racing.
The yellow color recalls both the city crest of Modena and Ferrari’s racing identity. The cap features Enzo’s signature and the name of his father’s workshop, a nod to his origins. His birthdate and first racing win are engraved on the cone.
The Montblanc emblem, in blue resin, sits on top—another link to Modena’s colors. Around it, metal details echo vintage car grills.
Enzo’s first win, at the Circuito del Savio, marked a turning point. There, Countess Paolina Biancoli—mother of WWI pilot Francesco Baracca—suggested Enzo use her son’s prancing horse emblem for luck. It became Ferrari’s symbol.
In 1932, the Cavallino Rampante appeared for the first time on a yellow background. Ferrari’s team won first and second place at Spa 24 Hours.
This same horse is engraved on the pen cap, along with the Countess’s words: "Le porterà fortuna" (“It will bring you luck”).
The clip features Enzo’s quote: “You cannot describe passion, you can only live it.”
Twelve lines engraved on the barrel represent the twelve cylinders of Ferrari’s first car—the 125 S, launched in 1947.
