The name Ferrari means bold design, powerful engines, and a deep link to racing history. Enzo Ferrari, with vision and passion, built more than a car company — he created a legend.
Montblanc's Great Characters Enzo Ferrari Special Edition pays tribute to him and his love for motorsport. The design takes cues from Modena’s city crest and the yellow of the Ferrari emblem — a color close to Enzo’s heart.
Details tell his story: the cap bears his signature and the name of his father's workshop, Officina Meccanica Alfredo Ferrari. His birthdate and first racing win are engraved on the cone.
At the top, a blue Montblanc emblem recalls Modena’s crest. Around it, metalwork inspired by vintage car grilles.
The prancing horse logo has a story too. After Enzo's first win at the Circuito del Savio, Countess Paolina Biancoli — mother of WWI pilot Francesco Baracca — suggested he use the horse from her son’s plane for luck.
It became the Cavallino Rampante. In 1932, Ferrari’s cars first raced with the symbol on a yellow background — and won. That same horse and the Countess’s words “Le porterà fortuna” are now engraved on the pen cap.
The 125 S, Ferrari’s first car, left the Maranello factory in 1947. It had twelve cylinders — echoed in the twelve lines engraved on the pen.
The clip carries Enzo’s words: “You cannot describe passion, you can only live it.”
