Inspiration

Inspired by Shakespeare’s popular Romeo and Juliet, the collection reinterprets the story’s narrative through its key narrative pillars. Details include feathers, reflecting Juliet’s celestial presence; leaves, inspired by Capulet’s orchard, where the young lovers did their first declarations of love; and thorn motifs, a reference to the family feud that taints their union with danger, echoing the impossibility of separating roses from thorns.

Design & Materials

Presented across several editions, the collection translates the world-famous play through a range of exquisite materials and finishes. The standard precious resin models play with light and contrast, combining cream and deep teal tones with gold- or platinum-coated fittings, while the Doué editions offer a more elevated look, blending resin barrels with finely engraved metal caps. The Solitaire LeGrand Edition brings Romeo and Juliet together in a single design, featuring dégradé lacquer and intertwined initials that nod to the lovers’ bond.

The Limited Edition 715 thrones at the top of the collection. Crafted from sterling silver, it features lacquered leaf motifs, gold inlays, and a mother-of-pearl Montblanc emblem set against red jasper. Each fountain pen is equipped with a solid gold nib engraved with Romeo, Juliet, or “R + J,” reinforcing the theme behind the design.

The collection is complemented by two notebook versions available in both cream and teal-coloured leather, each featuring an illustration of the heart-and-dagger motif on the cover, as well as a special-edition Verona Red bottle of ink and a set of ink cartridges inspired by the colour of passion and destiny.
