Every year, Pelikan turns to the world of precious gemstones to define its Edelstein Ink of the Year, and for 2026, the spotlight falls on Pyrite. Known for its metallic brilliance and symbolic associations with vitality, protection, and confidence, the gemstone serves as the conceptual foundation for this new release. The result is an ink formula that elevates every stroke on paper, characterised by its luminous, shimmering aura.

Design & Writing Experience

Echoing the visual identity of the Edelstein collection, the ink is housed in Pelikan’s signature glass bottle, which is just as charming for display. On paper, Pyrite reveals a striking metallic gold tone with subtle gray undertones, distinguishing it from warmer predecessors like the 2021 Golden Beryl.
The ink presents strong saturation and a pronounced sheen, catching light beautifully across each stroke. Fine shimmering particles are evenly distributed, creating a delicate sparkle that adds depth and texture, almost reminiscent of molten gold flowing across the page. Despite its visual richness, Pelikan positions the ink as versatile, suitable for everything from daily notes to more expressive writing.

Availability

The Edelstein Ink of the Year 2026 in Pyrite is now available and will be produced exclusively throughout the 2026 calendar year, in limited quantities tied to this release. Once the year concludes and existing stock runs out, the ink will be officially discontinued.
