The Namiki Emperor Chinkin Tiger is crafted using the Chinkin technique, where the design is meticulously carved into the pen's material and then filled with gold. The Namiki Emperor fountain pen is adorned with a traditional 18-karat gold nib that prominently features the silhouette of Mount Fuji. This remarkable No. 50 18-karat gold nib is exceptionally large, overshadowing the nibs of all other writing instruments, earning it the nickname 'No. 50 Jumbo'. It is even larger than a #8 sized nib or the nib of the Montblanc 149. The Namiki Emperor utilizes an eyedropper filling system, boasting an impressive ink capacity of 6 ml. It incorporates the same ink stopping function as the original Namiki eyedropper pens from the 1930s, ensuring regulated ink flow and preventing leakage. To fill the pen, the included eyedropper is used to fill the barrel, after which the section is screwed back in place. Ink is then contained within the barrel. By turning the knob at the end of the pen, a valve opens, allowing ink to flow from the barrel to the reservoir connected to the writing section. When the valve is closed again, only the ink in the reservoir is available for writing. Once the reservoir runs dry, it can be refilled from the barrel. For extended writing sessions, the valve can be left open for a continuous ink flow.
